The light gives a very good nebula effect. It's more focused than other galaxy lights so it doesn't spread across the ceiling as much but with the addition of the stars from the green laser it gives a really good space effect.
The remote is basic but works well. There are also buttons on the backpack of the astronaut which work the light and laser.
It runs quietly enough to be used as a bedroom night light and not cause any disruption.

This is the closest to night light that has almost every feature and one that I can endorse the most.
It has plenty of features to make it seem cooler: all kinds of sound effects, some wacky. It has the moving galaxy swirls.
But my favorite feature of all, is the cover. Almost all nightlights are way too bright by themselves. I also despise the stars (you shouldn't look into a green led light for health reasons.) Yet most turn on automatically on startup. The cover blocks that and gives a much dimmer appearance with the ability to uncover and not just be placing some thin towel hiding it.
The only night light that had an extra feature comapred to this was alien one that would copy what you said, fun for a few moments but rarely used after.

Wir haben den SZPACMATE Spaceman nun seit über zwei Monaten im Einsatz und bislang keinerlei Probleme. Das Produkt macht einen insgesamt soliden und gut verarbeiteten Eindruck und auch die Fernbedienung sieht so aus, als hielte sie mehr aus als diejenigen, die gerne mit LED-Lichterketten ausgeliefert werden.
Der Kopf des Spaceman wird mit einem Magneten auf dem Corpus gehalten und lässt sich einfach in den bevorzugten Winkel justieren, damit die Galaxie auch genau dort erstrahlt wo es gewünscht ist. Der Standfuß, der an die Mondoberfläche erinnert, sorgt für ausreichend Stabilität. Versetzt man den Spaceman sollte man jedoch darauf achten, ihn nicht nur am Kopf zu tragen, sonst hält der Magnet ggf. den Körper nicht und der baumelt dann nur noch am Kabel, ist uns auch schon mehrfach passiert – bislang ohne Folgen. Leider löst sich zudem auch der Standfuß leicht ab, hier könnte ggf. noch nachgebessert werden – aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau.
Fazit: Für rund 35.- € bekommt man hier eine solide, intuitiv zu bedienende und vielseitige Space-Beleuchtung fürs (Kinder)-Zimmer zu einem fairen Preis. Ja, in den grünen Laser sollte man nicht direkt reinschauen, aber das macht man zumindest älteren Kids schnell verständlich. Mir gefällt die Idee an sich, die Optik, die einfache und zugleich vielseitige Bedienung und nicht zuletzt die Tatsache, dass ich hier nicht alle 14 Tage die Batterien wechseln muss. Von mir und dem Nachwuchs folglich eine klare Empfehlung für diesen galaktisch leuchtenden Spaceman!
Ob die Projektion von grünen Sternen und Galaxie-Nebel in wechselnden Farben allerdings dazu beitragen, dass die Kinder wirklich schneller einschlafen oder ob das Gegenteil der Fall ist – darüber wollen wir auch nach acht Wochen noch kein Urteil fällen. Unsere Jungs haben mit der nächtlichen Galaxie am Himmel aber auf jeden Fall jede Menge Spaß. Alle anderen Nachtlichter sind "abgemeldet".

The egg itself feels high quality. Not some cheal plastic. Works great 100% recomend
My daughter is a rabid instruction reader and figured it out pretty fast. I just helped set it up. Two things to note: 1. The packaging was a disaster up when it arrived. It was packed in a flimsy box which was disintegrating inside an amazon prime bag, but luckily nothing was broken or damaged . From the way it was packed, Its certainly possible, so if you buy one and it's delivered in one of those flimsy plastic bags from Amazon, be ready to take some photos on the packaging in the event it's not working correctly but it should be Ok. 2. Also note, it runs from a charger cable, that they provide cant remember if its a usb-c or mini. You will need your own phone charger and possibly a longer cable or extension, depending on where your plugs are. I had to use an extension and an old iPhone charger plug.
Conclusion - It's pretty slick and I wish I had something like this in my college dorm along with my lava lamp and black lights illuminating my posters taped on the wall!

The head of the astronaut which contains the laser is magnetically attached to the body and can be freely moved around and positioned just to your liking, however, the real control over the various modes and functions is the included remote control. There are a total of 17 mode choices with the unit which includes 8 different nebula displays.
The remote doesn’t come with batteries so you’re going to have to supply this yourself. The astronaut can be removed from the separate plinth and is held in primarily by a tight fitting. In addition, the unit also has a timer function which you can set to turn off automatically after 45 or 90 minutes.
Basically, the remote will give you control over both the nebula feature and the star display and will give you access to the speed, intensity and colour of both. A small instructional document relating to the remote is included with the package. I’ve attached a short video of one particular mode that the unit is capable of.
In summary, I can see this being a great feature in setting a relaxing atmosphere in a child’s room as the lamp really does give you a peaceful feeling while watching the light show. Not a bad deal for the current retail price of just a penny short of £32 and would definitely recommend the astronaut LED lamp.
